Case Studies

Original measurements of local search markets.

Local search visibility is measurable, so we measure it, one whole city and one whole keyword set at a time, and publish exactly what the data showed. No recycled advice, no anonymized composites: real businesses, real queries, real grid points, dated to the day we pulled them.

Who Owns Edmonton Dentistry? Measuring Local Search Visibility Across 90 Grid Points and 483 Queries

Edmonton dentistry has a measured local search market: 483 tracked queries carrying 56,570 searches a month, 77.8% of it concentrated in ten head terms. We pulled the organic top 20 and local pack on desktop and mobile for all 483 queries, then ran a separate 90-point geo-grid (10×9, 1.8 km spacing) across the metro to score every competitor's Share of Local Voice. The two lenses disagree on who wins: only 4 of the top 25 citywide map-pack businesses also rank in the top 25 by Share of Local Voice, 10 of the grid's top 25 never appear in the citywide pull at all, and Albany Dental holds 14 organic #1s worth $40,750 a month in tracked volume while sitting at Share-of-Local-Voice rank 48 of 296, a top-3 grid finish at just 1 of 90 points.

More markets, on the way

Every future study follows the same rule.

We measure a real market before we write about it: a full keyword pull, a real geo-grid sweep, or both. The next cities and verticals are already in the queue. If you want a market measured before we get to it, CitySweep and GroundTruth run the same measurement for your business today.
